The Leader invited Ms Rebecca Hopkin from Gatenby Sanderson to outline the interview process to date. She explained that Gatenby Sanderson undertook a four week search process where potential candidates were targeted across England and Wales for the post of Head of Human Resources. An advertising campaign was put together which featured in the Guardian and People Management Jobs, as well as via social media and the Gatenby Sanderson LinkedIn profile. Ms Hopkin stated that there were 162 candidates in total and after making direct approaches, the end of the four weeks resulted in 12 formal applications. She stated that seven candidates were taken to preliminary interviews with Gatenby Sanderson, four of which were identified to take forward to Stakeholder Interviews. She explained that one candidate withdrew from the process for personal reasons, therefore three candidates went on to the two final interviews, which consisted of a Stakeholder Panel led by the Assistant Chief Executive, Mr Richard Brown, followed by a Management Panel led by the Chief Executive, Mr Will Bramble. As a result of those interviews, two candidates were brought forward for the final interview.
Councillor Neil Prior Moved that the public be excluded from the meeting; Seconded by Councillor Di Clements. The vote, undertaken by way of a show of hands, was carried. RESOLVED That the public be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business in accordance with Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 as it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 12 Part 4 of Schedule 12A to the Act; and that the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information. The webcast of the meeting was then stopped.
