There is no summary of this meeting yet. One is written once the council publishes the minutes. The agenda and papers are below.
Councillor Fouweather asked: There have been a number of sites identified and offered in the LDP for the building of new houses. Can the cabinet member tell me how many sites are under consideration and how many houses are proposed for those sites? Councillor Adan responded: Three Key Sites were identified in the Preferred Strategy of the Replacement Local Development Plan and estimated to deliver up to 2,850 homes. https://www.newport.gov.uk/documents/Planning-Documents/Replacement-Local-Development-Plan-2021/Preferred-Strategy-documents/1.-Preferred-Strategy-Consultation-Paper-October-2023.pdf In addition to these Key Sites, land will need to be allocated from the remaining Candidate Sites to meet Newport’s projected housing need for the Plan period. The sites will be finalised as part of the next phase of the RLDP, the Deposit Plan consultation.
Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
Declarations are read from the minutes once they are published.
