There is no summary of this meeting yet. One is written once the council publishes the minutes. The agenda and papers are below.
Councillor Mogford asked: Could you advise and detail any proposed or financially secured council projects in the Bishton & Langstone Ward relating to the development or upgrade of parks and similar recreational facilities please. I am particularly interested in the 2026 timeframe so any associated timescales should be included in your answer. Councillor Forsey responded: Over the past three years, we have been able to provide significant investment in our city play areas as part of the £2.5 million cabinet allocation. This has enabled us to repair and replace those in the worse state. To date this has delivered improvement to 26 facilities across Newport. Whilst unfortunate, it is not currently possible to address all the play areas we would like to. I can confirm that improvement works are planned for Waltwood Play area in the first half of 2026.
Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
Declarations are read from the minutes once they are published.
