There is no summary of this meeting yet. One is written once the council publishes the minutes. The agenda and papers are below.
Councillor Fouweather asked: Can the cabinet member tell me how many new taxi licenses have been issued since March 2025? Of those new licenses how many are ULEC compliant? Councillor Spencer responded: The Council has issued a total of 887 licences between private hire and hackney carriage vehicles in the period April to Sept 2025. The standards for emissions on vehicles apply at point of purchase, not at licensing. Purchasing of fossil fuel cars is still permitted currently, with the date for compliance being 4 years away. The latest figures for new purchases can be found on SMMT.co.uk. The total number of licenced vehicles that are hybrid electric is 40% and electric only is 4%.
Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
Declarations are read from the minutes once they are published.
