There is no summary of this meeting yet. One is written once the council publishes the minutes. The agenda and papers are below.
Councillor Mogford asked: Recently I asked a question to your cabinet member regarding the funding allocation to ‘public toilet considerations’, given we are now some 6 months into this new financial year. Cllr Mogford asked: “Can the Cabinet member now give a meaningful update on overall progress and plans relating to this budget item? “ In response Councillor Forsey stated: […] A trial is currently underway at Beechwood Park to assess the need to facilitate access to public toilets. I note that In February 2025 you again appeared in the South Wales Argus where you amongst other things spoke about a budget allocation regarding public toilets. Am I to assume your cabinet member does not have the time or inclination to give a detailed or meaningful response to my question asked previously or is this indeed the full extent to the progress on public toilets. Either way where has the £15,000 budget been spent, if at all. Perhaps you can respond in somewhat mor detail than your cabinet member to help shed further light on the matter? Councillor Batrouni responded: The £15,000 budget for public toilets was allocated to Beechwood Park, funding a summer trial that made toilets available daily from 1 July to 30 September 2025. Now that the trial has just ended, a full review of the arrangements and costs will take place. The aim is to extend seasonal opening from 1 May to 30 September in future years and consider provision during busy winter periods.
Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
Declarations are read from the minutes once they are published.
