There is no summary of this meeting yet. One is written once the council publishes the minutes. The agenda and papers are below.
Councillor Evans asked: Can the Cabinet Member tell me if there are any plans to update and improve the play area at the bottom of Coed Melyn Park between Vancouver Drive and Bassaleg Road? Councillor Forsey responded: Over the past two year, we have been able to provide significant investment in our play areas with cabinet allocating £2.5M to repair and replace those in the worse state. To date this has delivered improvements to 26 facilities across Newport, with more to be completed this year. Whilst unfortunate, it is not currently possible to address all the play areas we would like to. I can advise that a small amount of section 106 money is available for the Allt-yr-yn Heights play area located on the other side of your ward and we will be consulting on this shortly.
Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
Declarations are read from the minutes once they are published.
