There is no summary of this meeting yet. One is written once the council publishes the minutes. The agenda and papers are below.
Councillor Fouweather asked: The council was allocated 94.1k to consult and implement the changes to the 20mph fiasco. Can the cabinet member provide me with a detailed breakdown of how this money has been spent? How much of the money remains unspent? Councillor R Howells responded: To reiterate the Leader’s comments in the council chamber on the 26th November 2024. To date there has been no spend on the £94.1k grant allocated to Newport by Welsh Government, to implement changes to the roads that meet the nationally applied guidance on 30mph exceptions.
Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
Declarations are read from the minutes once they are published.
