There is no summary of this meeting yet. One is written once the council publishes the minutes. The agenda and papers are below.
Councillor Townsend asked: Dotted around the city, in some of the parks and cemeteries are boarded up former houses belonging to caretakers and park keepers. Some of these properties have been derelict for a long time. Could the cabinet member outline the administration’s plans to bring the properties back into use or to sell them on? I recognise that some may have specific legal constraints or are in a poor state of repair, but these issues should not be insurmountable. Councillor Forsey responded: Of the properties within parks and cemeteries, there are only two lodges boarded up. Tredegar Park Lodge is currently being repurposed as a café and an options appraisal will be undertaken for the Lodge at Christchurch when a bat licence has been obtained.
Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
Declarations are read from the minutes once they are published.
