There is no summary of this meeting yet. One is written once the council publishes the minutes. The agenda and papers are below.
Councillor Fouweather asked: Can you tell me if there are any plans to introduce congestion charging in Newport? Councillor Lacey responded: The council have no plans to introduce a congestion charge in Newport. N.B. This question was allocated to Councillor Forsey, but congestion charges could only be applied through a local scheme under the Transport Act, which would require Welsh Government consent and Regulations. Therefore, it is a transport matter which comes within the responsibility of the Cabinet Member for Infrastructure and Assets, Councillor Lacey.
Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
Declarations are read from the minutes once they are published.
