Decisions: 1. That approval be granted for a public consultation on the Welsh Language Promotion Strategy (attached at Appendix 2 to the circulated report) for a 4 week period. 2. That the Consultation responses be considered by the Welsh Language Promotion Strategy Task and Finish Group, and the final Welsh Language Promotion Strategy be brought back to Cabinet for decision, following this. Reason for Decisions: To ensure that Neath Port Talbot complies with the requirements of the Welsh Language Standards (No 1) Regulations 2015. Implementation of Decisions: The decisions will be implemented after the three day call in period. Consultation: This item will be subject to external consultation.
This item was removed from consideration today’s meeting, as an incorrect version of the Consultation report was circulated. The Strategy would be resubmitted to Cabinet at a later date.
Decision: That the revised Corporate Risk Management Policy, as detailed within the circulated report, be approved. Reason for Decision: To support the council in discharging its duty to be efficient, transparent and accountable to local people and to observe high standards of corporate governance. Implementation of Decision: The decision will be implemented after the three day call in period.
Decision: That the draft response, as detailed at Appendix 1 to the circulated report, be approved, and delegated authority be granted to the Chief Executive to submit this response, on the part of Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council. Reason for Decision: To respond to the Welsh Government’s open consultation on the draft Local Elections (Principal Areas) (Single Transferable Vote) (Wales) Rules 2023. Implementation of Decision: The Chair of Scrutiny agreed that this item could be implemented immediately. There would therefore be no call in of this item.
