The Chair presented the draft Forward Work Programme (FWP) for 2026/2027. Members considered the report and noted that the FWP is a live document, which will be reviewed at each meeting to reflect emerging issues and key service priorities. Members requested that the following items be included within the Forward Work Programme: • T? Dysgu – follow-up report (post-inspection) • Team Around the School Workshop – report to be circulated in advance of the workshop Resolved – That the Forward Work Programme for 2026–2027 be agreed, subject to the inclusion of the above items and ongoing review.
The Chair advised that Member referrals had been incorporated into the Forward Work Programme, where appropriate, and would continue to be considered and reviewed as the Programme is developed throughout the municipal year.

Members were advised that a Member workshop would be held immediately after the meeting to consider the new Education Strategy. It was noted that the Education Strategy will be formally reported to Scrutiny on 14th September 2026.
Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
