Change of use from use classes B1,B2,B8 to a Veterinary Practice (Sui Generis use). The Planning Officer D Cross introduced the report and provided the committee with a power point presentation outlining the application A Representative of the Applicant then addressed the committee, providing details of the application and the Applicant’s professional background. The Representative also referred to the location of the business and the number of staff. Numerous questions were raised regarding parking where the applicant suggested tandem parking as a solution to the limited parking ourside the practice, informed the committee of the appointment only nature of the practice to prevent an influx of traffic to the area and informed the committee that the frequency of deliveries were once daily and that there would not be large vehicles visiting the practice often. Officer D cross closes by saying – the number of staff aren’t reflected in the proposed plans.Different classes have different requirements and there are no parking guidlelines for vetinary clinics however it could fall under the clinic requirement which would mean a need for a number of spaces for the practitioners (5) and 12 spaces for clients. Relaxation to a requirement of 15 spaces due to it being appointment only clinic. Resolved that; The officers reccomendation be accepted.

Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
