Apologies received from Cllr M Jones
No declarations of interest were received
The Chair formally opened the meeting and referred to the Council’s Constitution whereby the public in attendance are unable to address the committee. The Planning Officer introduced the application to the committee, provided plans of the proposed site and highlighted the salient points within the report. The following questions were raised by the committee and were responded to by the appropriate officers in attendance. Out of the 20 objections received, parking is the number one concern of residents as there are no visitor spaces and the property is located on a bus route next to a bus stop. Where will the spaces be located and will it exacerbate current parking issues? If the property has tandem parking how will this impact traffic on the junction for manoeuvres? How will the entrance be widened and by how much? Regarding fire safety, who will handle fire safety if the property houses 10 or 12 people? If planning permission is granted, can this be turned into an Airbnb or HMO without additional applications? Will the bus stop be moved or become marked? Will the street sign be moved? What will the appearance of the cladding be once building is completed? Where within the property will the flats be located? Concerns are raised regarding lack of garden space for families of the apartments. The following comments were raised; It is a great pity that a lovely property has been broken into 3 flats and unless proper management is secured there is potential that it will become problematic for the community. There have been concerns raised regarding this property becoming a HMO and although not a consideration for this meeting it would have a detrimental impact on the community.
The Chair thanked the Officers and Councillors for their attendance and advised that there was no other business deemed urgent and closed the meeting
Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
Declarations are read from the minutes once they are published.
