Decided: The Committee agreed that progress on the strategy, including service performance, legislation and infrastructure projects, be noted. It agreed that the updated Action Plan in Appendix A be endorsed. It referred the report to Cabinet, including recommendations 2.4 to 2.8, and changed the wording of recommendation 2.8 for Cabinet to consider: that Cabinet considers building the fleet parking facility at Atlantic Trading Estate and authorises works to start on phase one, subject to planning permissions, statutory approvals and funding. The Committee also asked Cabinet to recognise that about £1.2m of capital funding (money for buildings and equipment) would be needed for phase two, and to consider this when deciding on phase one.
Decided: Members resolved to note and endorse the change in reporting mechanisms for the Council's procured goods and services, and to approve the approach to requiring Carbon Reduction Plans (plans that suppliers prepare to show how they will cut carbon) for contracts worth more than £2m.
