The Chair welcomed Gareth Ioan to his first committee meeting following the resignation of Rev Guto Prys ap Gwynfor due to ill health. A response had not been received to date from the quakers. Anne Uruska requested that we invited a member of the Orthodox church to join the committee and it was asked for her to provide contact information for Rhianydd to pursue the request. As reported at the previous meeting Joyce Howells had retired but was continuing to assist the school until the end of the academic year. Therefore, a new Chair would be required to be appointed. This would be put on the next meeting agenda. Due to the closure of Ysgol Felinfach and the opening of the new area Ysgol Dyffryn Aeron, it was reported that Mrs Non McAvoy would be retiring at Christmas. She was thanked her for her work during her time on the committee. A new representative for the primary sector would therefore need to be sought.

Consideration was given to the pupil number studying RE in 2024/25, and there continued to be concern that the subject would not be taught in Penweddig school, if a teacher was not appointed following the retirement of Joyce Howells and that the course had not been available to pupils in Cardigan and Penglais. Discussion evolved on the courses and number of students that were studying the subject at degree level to become RE teachers, and in additional the threat of courses being relocated from the Lampeter campus to Carmarthen, however, it was agreed that this was a financial matter within that University, and was not within the remit of the committee to raise concerns.
