The Cabinet Member considered the Carmarthenshire Artificial Grass Pitches (AGP) Plan, which aimed to enhance the provision of AGPs across the county. Reference was made to the work commissioned by the council in February 2023 to shape a future strategic vision and approach to the provision, management, and maintenance of outdoor sports pitches, particularly AGPs. The Cabinet Member duly considered the key findings and recommendations emanating from the review, together with the associated cost implications, grant funding opportunities and the identified challenges, as set out in the report. The plan included supporting the proposed landscape of 3G pitches, adopting the methodology and working practices to ensure an effective and financially sustainable AGP network, and uniting the sector in the AGP vision for the future which would facilitate pitch sports to grow, thrive and inspire residents to be active for life. In response to a query, the Cabinet Member was advised that all figures pertaining to club and facilities data would be refreshed to ensure up to date information prior to the progression of any grant funding opportunities. RESOLVED: 3.1 that the proposed and landscape of Artificial Grass Pitches (15 full size 3G pitches) be supported; 3.2 that the methodology and working practices proposed to ensure an effective, financially sustainable Artificial Grass Pitches network be supported.

Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
