The Cabinet Member considered application received from the Golden Grove Trust for assistance from the Rural Innovation Fund. It was reported that Gelli Aur, near Llandeilo was known as one of the most important country house estates in Wales. However, the estate was noted as being in a state of disrepair resulting in the Trust seeking support to rescue the entire estate from its current condition and build a sustainable future for the site. The report provided detailed information on the proposed project which would undertake a review into the future viability of the estate providing an action plan for the Trust on ways the estate could be redeveloped as a sustainable enterprise to attract investment and to secure its future. Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
