The Cabinet Member received a report on the Local Lettings Policy (LLP) for a residential development at Parc Pendre, Kidwelly. It was noted in the report that the LLP was proposed as an adjustment to the authority’s main lettings policy where specific additional criteria will apply to take account of current housing need and local issues. The Parc Pendre, Kidwelly development is in the ward of Kidwelly and St Ishmael and will deliver 16 social rented homes: - 4 x 1 Bedroom Apartments - 6 x 2 Bedroom Houses - 4 x 3 Bedroom Houses - 2 x 4 Bedroom Houses The main priorities as stated in the report were to: - Allocate homes to those in the greatest housing need with a community connection - Allocate homes to those in Band B with a community connection - Consider allocations to current tenants who are under-occupying their homes and affected by bedroom tax, current tenants who are over-crowded and key workers. The Cabinet Member was advised that the community connection stipulation meant that priority would be given to those with the greatest housing needs within an area known as Llanelli Rural, which contains the areas of Kidwelly, Trimsaran and St. Ishmael. The Cabinet Member was also advised that these new properties could be used for those looking to downsize or in currently overcrowded accommodation and noted the good mix of property sizes in the new development. RESOLVED that the Local Lettings Policy (LLP) for the new development for 16 homes at Parc Pendre, Kidwelly be approved.
Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
