RESOLVED that the establishment of the third-party grant scheme specifically for Cross Hands and Laugharne delivered as part of the Ten Towns Programme be approved.
The Cabinet Member considered a report which sought the approval to establish a new capital fund for Cross Hands and Laugharne as part of the Ten Towns Programme. The purpose of the scheme was to create new economic opportunities within the two areas, resulting in increased footfall or new services for the benefit of the local communities. It was reported that funding had been secured from the UK Government's Shared Prosperity Fund for the period from April 2025 to March 2026. A total of £90,000 had been allocated to the fund, which would equally be distributed between the two towns. Grant support would be available up to a maximum of £15,000 per organisation at a 100% funding rate, with each area having access to a total fund of £45,000. The Cabinet Member noted the eligible applicants as listed in the report as well as the fund administration, process, project delivery timeline and the outputs to be achieved. RESOLVED that the establishment of the third-party grant scheme specifically for Cross Hands and Laugharne delivered as part of the Ten Towns Programme be approved.
Councillors must say when they have a personal link to something being discussed, such as a job, a property or a family member. A prejudicial interest is one strong enough that the councillor usually leaves the room and takes no part.
