The Cabinet Member was presented with a report on the proposed Local Lettings Policy (LLP) for Housing Association developments at Trem Y Gaer, Llanybydder and New Dock Road, Llanelli. It was advised that this will be used as an adjustment to our main lettings policy where specific additional criteria will apply to take account of current housing need and local issues. This will ensure that we provide accommodation solutions for local people in most need, meet our objective to move people on quickly from temporary accommodation and back to their community, and provide opportunities for key workers, helping to create a sustainable community. Corrections were made to the report: that the New Dock Road development is in the Glanymor ward, not the Tyshia ward as stated in the executive summary on pg7 of the report pack, and that on the layout plan starting on pg13 the flats are labelled 2 to 7, where they should be 1 to 6. The Cabinet Member noted in reference to the Bro Myrddin development the letting priority – being 6 homes for applicants in Band A, 2 homes for applicants in Band B, and 1 home for a key worker. The Cabinet Member also noted in reference to the Pobl development that they will provide 6 properties for rent in an existing building which has been refurbished through TACP grant funding, and this means that the policy prioritises homeless people in temporary accommodation.
